LEGO® The Microscale DRG Class 61
The DRG Class 61 was a streamlined steam locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, designed for the Henschel-Wegmann express train. Between 1936 and 1939 it ran regularly on the Berlin-Dresden line, covering the distance in a hundred minutes at a top speed of around 135 km/h. After being used to transport the wounded during the Second World War, the train ran between Hamburg and Munich, while one of the locomotives was used for experimental purposes in East Germany. Because of its characteristic shape and unusual color scheme, the train is very popular with model makers and brickbuild versions are released until today.
The model consists of 125 parts and is made up of the locomotive and a corresponding stand shaped like the trackbed. The final build measures approximately 13.0 x 4.0 x 4.5 cm or 5.0 x 1.5 x 2.0 in.
